Plant Upgrades, Strip Out and Installation

We are aware that managing process plant is an ongoing challenge and upgrades are often required to improve production and maximise asset use. During this work downtime must be managed to avoid unnecessary interruptions in output. Expert advice in the planning of these high risk changes is essential to minimise disruption. 

At Normand & Thomson we can manage all aspects of modifications, upgrades, strip out and installation to all types of process plant. Our clients are often Plant Managers, Process Engineers, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers and Systems Engineers who have visualised a plant upgrade project but need assistance in bringing the practical aspects of the project to life. 

We have carried out hundreds of such upgrades in many industries and can bring our vast experience to any project, quickly able to grasp the challenges making a daunting project crystallise into a series of easily understood achievable steps. We plan and execute logistics, removal, lifting and disposal of plant and our teams of skilled engineers will offload, position and fully install equipment in accordance with customer’s requirements.

Our site installation teams are experienced in working in all environments. They are experienced and fully trained in all aspects of site health and safety requirements and equipment operation. We have our own cranes and other lifting equipment to assist with any installation work.

In addition to the delivery of the upgrade project, Normand and Thomson can manufacture the pipe work, steelwork and vessels required for the upgrade. Keeping all aspects of the project in house and under control means we can bring any project in on schedule. We offer an in-house machining and fabrication capability, able to repair or renew critical components, a service particularly important in shutdown or emergency repair situations.

We are happy to supply fixed prices based on tender documents, or supply labour and material in line with our charging policy.
